new to caravaning, please help?

We have just bought our first caravan and I am a complete beginner to it. I have never towed a caravan, set up an awning, connected the gas etc. Also what the hell is an aquaroll, we have one but I dont know what it is? Does anyone have any helpful tips or website addresses that will help, or do you know of any books that will help?

A few tips. Find an empty car park and practise reversing it. Remember when reversing the van that to make it turn left you steer right and vice versa.Its pretty easy once you get used to it.And a properly balanced van is a doddle to reverse which brings me to:
When you load it balance it properly and do not overload it.
Dont go in the outside,3rd lane +,lane of a motorway as taking a single axled caravan or trailer there is illegal.
If the caravan has an anti snake device fitted then use it.It will help you control the thing.Wagons are limited to 56mph.On a car that usually means an indicated 60mph.Thats fast enough for most folk and means you wont get in anyones way. If the caravan starts to snake for heavens sake dont try to drive through it.Its like the tail wagging the dog and its MOST unamusing.Gently slow down without touching the brakes untill your world returns to relatively normal levels and you can breathe again. Its scary.
Make sure the tyre pressures on the van are correct and carry a spare and a wheel brace/wrench.You may never need that spare tyre but you will curse the day that you dont have it and need it.
